Jesse Sit Yo Ass Down

Jesse Jackson that is. This is old news but a few weeks ago Jesse Jackson said some rather negative things off mic towards Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama. Basically he said that Barack was talking down to black people and he wanted to cut his nuts off. *GASP* REV. JACKSON - was all that really necessary? Hell no! Sure you thought your mic was off but it was hot, but really were those comments and the others that subsequently came out necessary? Again, hell no! What was the point? Oh, you're mad at Barack for telling black folk they need to start taking responsibility for themselves? That's the same thing Bill Cosby has been saying for years, but you didn't say anything negative about him, or perhaps you did but those comments didn't get out because you weren't on national television talking out your ass. Let's face it: 1) Barack was telling the truth! We as black people do need to start taking more responsibility for our own lives and for our culture. We blame everyone for everything but we need to take a look in the mirror because therein lies the blame. 2) Why should Barack water down his statements when talking to black people? I don't get it. We are probably somewhere between 10-12 million of the total population. If he's trying to win the White House come November it won't just be Black folks getting him there it will be white, latino, asian, black and basically any other nationality in the US. I think he's been smart not to market himself solely as "the black candidate" because he knows it's going to take more than us to get him there. 3) Jesse you didn't win the White House when you ran back in '84, hell you didn't even win the nomination, do I smell just a little bit of haterade here? Probably. Get over it, please! Even your own son didn't back you up when this mess came out. That should tell you something. Dear Jesse, just move on, go find Rev. Al so you both can latch on to some cause and one again claim your self nominated position as the "spokesperson" for black people. But for right now, I need you to sit yo ass down!!
